Levels and Rules

You can choose one of three levels in the 50 kilometer diet. You can interpret the level guidelines freely – how you fit the diet into your life is up to you. If you can’t follow the diet every day this is fine too. It’s important to remember that the goal of the 50 kilometer diet is change the way you shop to include more seasonal and local food.

Beginner:

* purchase materials that have been produced within 50 kilometers. It is less important whether the baker’s ingredients (flour, salt etc) have been purchased within a 50 km radius.

* ask the vendors where his/hers vegetables and fruits come from and buy only what has has been grown within 50 kilometers. (LINK)

* For salt, sugar and flour, we recommend the following…

* keep your coffee consumption moderate – if you can, drink tea. If you are not able to give up your coffee habit, buy organic fair trade coffee.

* pay attention to where your milk products come from!

Intermediate:

* You agree to only eat food that is made from raw materials produced within a radius of 50 km. Ask the baker where the bread is produced and the flour is from.

* you can only consume seasonal fruits and vegetables that have been produced within 50km. Ask the vendor! This also applies to meat, milk products and eggs. (LINK)

* For salt, sugar and flour, we recommend the following…

* try not to drink any coffee for a short time period and see if you can live without it. Only drink herbal teas that have been produced within 50 km.

Advanced:

* You agree to only eat food that is made from raw materials produced within a radius of 50 km. Ask the baker where the bread is produced and the flour is from.

* you can only consume seasonal fruits and vegetables that have been produced within 50km. Ask the vendor! This also applies to meat, milk products and eggs. (LINK)

* Only consume salt, sugar and flour if you can find it within 50 kilometers. If you can’t – don’t buy it!

* Don’t drink any coffee. Only drink herbal teas that have been produced within 50 km.

Choose a level that matches what you think you can achieve! You can of course change levels within the 50 km diet period (hopefully to a more advanced level)

Thank you!

Azért a sótermelést nehéz megoldani 50 km-en belül. Wieliczka legalább 300 km, Parajd 800, Désakna 700… és só nélkül hosszú távon veszélyes élni napi két óra sport mellett.

    sziasztok,
Mi nem szeretnénk ha só nélkül étkezzetek. Csak mint a többi élelmiszernél a sónál is van néhány ajánlatunk mint például a parajdi kősó vagy szlovéniai tengeri sók. A GYIK-ban többet olvashatsz a sóról.
Hajrá a sporthoz és a diétához!
